What we need from you
Store requirements
Don't worry if you don't have everything yet. Send what you can and we'll help you fill in the gaps.
- STEP 01
Company details
The basics we need to set up your store and its legal pages:
- Company name, physical address, phone number and email address
- Store owner's name and email address
- A general business email for customers (e.g. info@yourstore.co.za)
- STEP 02
Product information
The more detail you give us, the better your store will look and sell:
- A spreadsheet with every product: name, price, SKU, description, variants (sizes, colours) and weight
- A shared folder of product photos, each labelled with the product name or SKU
Tip: Weights matter: shipping rates are calculated from them.
- STEP 03
Branding
Anything that shows how your brand looks and feels:
- Logo files and brand colours
- Fonts you use
- Banner images and lifestyle photography
Tip: Use Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer for large files.
- STEP 04
Payment gateway & banking details
Shopify Payments isn't available in South Africa, so we'll connect a local gateway such as Paystack, PayFast, Yoco, Ozow or Peach Payments. Not sure which? We'll help you choose.
- Access to your chosen gateway account (or we'll help you sign up)
- Bank details if you'd also like to offer EFT as a manual payment option
- STEP 05
Shipping & delivery
How you'll get orders to customers:
- Which courier you use, or would like to use
- Your delivery charges, or the costs you pay your courier
- Whether you offer collection, local delivery or free shipping over a certain amount
Tip: Not sure how to charge? We can set up zone-based rates with our app, SmartShip ZA.
- STEP 06
Copy & content
Any written content you already have. We'll help polish it:
- Your story: who you are and how the business started
- Your returns and refunds process
- Any videos, blog posts or extra content you'd like on the site
- STEP 07
Domain details
Near the end of the build we connect your domain (e.g. yourstore.co.za). You'll need access to wherever it's registered so the DNS settings can be updated.
Tip: Don't know where your domain is managed? We'll help you find out and make the changes.
- STEP 08
Stores you like
Send us links to any online stores whose look or features you like. It's the quickest way for us to understand your taste, and we'll use them as inspiration for your design.
